General Airport Information
The one and only airport in Prague and the leading aviation hub of the Czech Republic is Prague International Airport. Officially named Václav Havel Airport Prague (after the last president of Czechoslovakia and the first of the Czech Republic), it is located 12km/7 miles from the city, in the area of Prague-Ruzyně. The airport houses more than 48 airlines and serves various destinations, both domestic and international (even intercontinental). It is an old airport, operating from 1937. Still, it has been renovated several times and, nowadays, is a modern and passenger-friendly aerodrome.
Terminals
Prague International Airport has two terminal buildings connected via a footbridge. Terminal 1 serves flights from and to non-Schengen countries, whereas terminal 2 is dedicated to flights originating or departing for Schengen destinations.
